JAKA are back! The statement that the new record by the inventors of hyperpunk (Michael Zuckle) is the German 9/11 is, of course, completely off the mark and should not be repeated. So here are quickly the four most outrageous facts about the new album by JAPANISCHE KAMPFHÖRSPIELE:
1/ With "The Golden Anthropocene", for the first time in the 18-year history of the band, an album has an English title. Will this finally bring them the long-awaited international breakthrough? We certainly hope not!
2/ Yin Yang JAKA? Not at all! While JAKA-style has always meant distilling something from a lot of wrong recordings made in a hurry, which, if at all, was corrected during the process of creation but mostly just left as is, the new album has been meticulously planned according to Western standards and recorded in a proper (!) studio. The album was mixed by star producer Carsten Benninghoff, and - no joke! - on a landfill. It was mastered by the legendary Tim Schuldt at the world-famous 4CN studios in Bochum.
3/ The album contains a total of 20 tracks, including some short processes like "Luxusvernichtung". At least here, JAKA stayed true to themselves.
In addition to the tracklist, which you can find below, there is now also a first video for the song "Weiß" online: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qLv5xVQydU
