Fleetwood Mac member and multiple Grammy-nominated solo artist presents freshly recorded songs from her archive on October 3!
STEVIE NICKS has delved deep into her personal archive and discovered brilliant songs that she has never recorded for albums. "24 Karat Gold – Songs From The Vault" showcases 14 songs from over 25 years of songwriting that the brilliant songwriter has now recorded with an outstanding group of musicians. A worthy successor to her album "In Your Dreams", which was released in 2011.
"I used to record many songs on cassettes and then pass them on to others," STEVIE NICKS comments on the album "24 Karat Gold – Songs From The Vault". "But knowing that all these songs were recorded with the same love with which I wrote them back then is a great joy for me. I selected 12 songs from over 40 demos that I recorded between 1969 and 1987 and added two songs that I wrote in 1994 and 1995. All these songs are about love and broken hearts – how to pick up the pieces and move on. It’s a chronicle of love from beginning to end. When you write a song that never gets recorded for an album, it sometimes accompanies your life for years. So I went back to those times when the songs were written... Sometimes I can't even remember what I did the day before, but I still remember exactly what happened during the time I wrote those songs. You think about them and go through them again until they become a part of your world. These songs have become 24-karat gold today!
And yet this album was only possible because of the overwhelming "Nashvillers," as I call the brilliant musicians we worked with in Nashville on the recordings. They were an absolutely great band and equivalent to Tom Petty & Heartbreakers. We were in awe just watching them play. We only had two weeks to record the tracks... it was a real express train... So we rolled on, and this album shows how well we rolled. And we did it!"

Her first solo work, "Bella Donna", was released in 1981, immediately reaching number 1 on the US charts and was certified US Platinum after just three months.
