The entire folk punk world is flooded with sunny radio rock and faceless boys and girls in suspenders and floral dresses. Wait, the entire folk punk world? Not quite. One band resists the tendency towards the beautiful and prefers to push their crooked anthems about heartache and social incompetence through the speakers of their willing listeners in as rough and unusual an instrumentation as possible. ANDREW JACKSON JIHAD has been enchanting their fans with their freak version of classic folk punk and indie rock for ten years and five albums, and with their latest record "Christmas Island" they managed to shift into a higher gear once again.
Anyone who is now curious whether the band also expresses their quirky side live should see for themselves. The opportunity already arose in spring 2014 when AJJ accompanied none other than Frank Turner on his Germany tour. Further dates are offered by the upcoming European tour, which the folk punks will undertake in October together with the English band CAVES.
