The Smith Street Band not only racked up thousands of flight miles last year but also gained just as many fans. One of them is Frank Turner himself, who declared: "It's official, The Smith Street Band are my new favourites. Check them out ASAP." He followed up his promising words with action and took his new favorite band along on his nearly two-month-long US tour. In addition, the folk-influenced alternative/punk band from Melbourne can also count a sold-out tour in their home country, a trip to Europe and China, as well as numerous festivals (including The Fest in Florida) among their achievements in 2013.
The band provides the soundtrack for laughing, drinking, pondering, crying, and celebrating life – or all of it at once. The Smith Street Band has the endearing charm of a Frank Turner, the stadium potential of The Gaslight Anthem, the captivating melodies of Against Me!, and the lyrical skill of The Menzingers. By the way, they will soon be going on a co-headline tour with the latter in Down Under.
Just in time for their upcoming Europe tour together with The Restorations and Astpai starting on 15.04.14, Uncle M will release an exclusive special edition of the "Don't Fuck With Our Dreams" EP, which will be available both digitally and on LP from 11.04.14. The limited and hand-numbered screen print edition of 500 copies will be released on heartblood-colored vinyl and is a first harbinger of the album set to be released at the end of 2014.
