On June 9 and 10, 2006, the weekend open-air Rock die Heide will be held for the fourth consecutive time at the Himmelreich site near Blaubeuren. Due to the success of previous years, the music festival has matured into a staple event and is certainly one of the regional highlights of outdoor concerts this summer.
From planning to the final execution, Rock die Heide is organized annually by a multi-member team, and only through the involvement of numerous volunteers, as well as material and financial support from sponsors, can the event be realized in this form.
On both festival days, the stage program starts at 3:00 PM and ends around 1:00 AM. Approximately 7 bands will perform each day. Admission to the event is free. Drinks, food, and various merchandise items can be purchased at fair prices on the festival grounds.
In addition to the already established music groups, Rock die Heide always consciously features promising newcomers. The goal of providing a diverse lineup will be maintained this year as well. However, despite the complexity of popular music, the sound of a guitar is also a guiding principle for the profile of the open-air festival.
To keep expenses as low as possible and to ensure free admission for festival visitors, all bands perform for a good cause. This means for all interested applicants: A performance at Rock die Heide is exclusively unpaid. (Food vouchers and accommodation options are, of course, provided!)
The proceeds from additional income benefit the Protestant leisure and youth work of the Blaubeuren district.
