Summer, sun, cactus! With this slogan, Helge Schneider has not only shaped the motto of this year's vacation season but has also titled his new album and the simultaneously released, eponymous advance single! That's right: The sensation is complete! With "Sommer, Sonne, Kaktus!" the infamous Ruhrpott icon makes his return to the spotlight with his first music album in over six years!
Helge Schneider – the man of a thousand characters, a thousand music styles, and the most diverse forms of artistic expression: singer, multi-instrumentalist, actor, author, film and theater director, and not least in all these different fields a true maestro of on-stage improvisation, for which the eccentric Mülheimer is both feared and adored throughout the entire German-speaking pop culture. Secret agent, Western hero, jazz diva! After a much too long winter, a dreary spring, and a rainy summer of catastrophic floods, Helge is finally putting an end to all that – with "Sommer, Sonne, Kaktus!" the first new material from the award-winning all-round entertainer will be released on August 9, 2013, after more than six years!
Even the eponymous lead single, released simultaneously with the album, makes it clear where the journey on Helge's brand new longplayer is headed: "Sommer, Sonne, Kaktus!" is yet another true showcase of Schneider's artistry, eccentricity, and musical genius! The multiple award-winning entertainment icon and cult musician himself has already very foresightedly described the song as "the official football anthem for our German team" – so nothing can really go wrong for this year's Europa League matches!
The album "Sommer, Sonne, Kaktus!" including the eponymous single is now available for pre-order everywhere! On Amazon, in addition to the regular version, the "Schneider Deluxe Edition" including CD and DVD is available, which contains various videos as well as the exclusive session "Unplugged aus Mülheim." In a timely manner and with live introductions of the new songs from "Sommer, Sonne, Kaktus!" Helge Schneider has been on an extensive tour through German halls since June 29, 2013, where he will of course perform selected, world-exclusive samples from his upcoming album!
