POHLMANN – "StarsWars". The 1st single from the new album "Nix Ohne Grund", which will be released on 10.05.2013 via Four Music ...Summer 2006... Pohlmann releases his first album and the single "Wenn jetzt Sommer wär" marks the beginning of a new era for German singer/songwriters. He follows up with two more solo albums. ...February 2013... -those who stay true to themselves change- After countless tours, festivals, and live shows, Pohlmann finds a new label home with his fourth studio album at Four Music. The FourZeichen are looking good!
For Pohlmann, there are only two speeds: the frenzy of the life-weary and the slow-motion of the flâneur. Even his body language embodies pressure, imbalance, and restlessness. For this motoric expression, there is rarely a harmonious outlet, but almost always a jarring and jerky release. We experience exactly this release in the song "StarWars" (release date 26.04.2013). The song was once called "Leiden", but who wants to wander through the valley of lamentation... that's not what POHLMANN is made for. Much more, his attitude recalls melancholic moments of stillness, reminiscent of the classically glamorous James Dean pose with a lowered head and gaze - there, suffering is merely a stop at a gas station, where the machine can do nothing but stand still - but only to get back on the road as soon as possible.
This is how "StarWars" sounds, and accordingly, Yoda says to Anakin Skywalker: "Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose...." This sentence engraves itself into Pohlmann's consciousness and permeates his new album as a wondrous message.
