Depeche Mode will release their highly anticipated 13th studio album “Delta Machine” on March 22, 2013, under the Sony Music label Columbia Records. The album, recorded over the past year in Santa Barbara, California, and New York, was produced by Ben Hillier and mixed by Flood. The video premiere of the first single “Heaven” will take place on February 1. In addition to a standard CD, “Delta Machine” will also be available in a deluxe edition featuring four additional songs and a 28-page hardcover book with photos by their long-time artistic partner Anton Corbijn (details and tracklisting of the album and single configurations can be found below).
“I had a lot of respect for writing this album because I wanted the songs to sound very modern,” explains Martin Gore. “I want people to feel good when they listen and find a kind of peace. There’s something very magical about it.”
“With this release, we completely turned our ideas of how to make an album upside down,” adds Dave Gahan. “If we hit a point where it started to sound too normal, we would throw everything out and give it that organic Depeche Mode sound. ‘Delta Machine’ is no different, and I can’t wait for all our fans to hear it.”
Following the release of their new album, the band will embark on a European tour, kicking off on May 7 at Hayarkon Park in Tel Aviv. The concert tour will include 34 shows in 25 European countries. After concerts at the Olympic Stadium in Munich, Stade De France in Paris, and Moscow's Lokomotiv Stadium, the European tour will conclude in Minsk, Belarus. A North American tour will follow, with details to be announced soon.
