THE BOTS are two brothers who take the stage with guitar and drums to deliver solid rock noise. Playing garage rock that really kicks you in the ass. Uncompromising, honest, forward. The fact that guitarist Mikaiah Lei is only 18 years old and his brother and drummer Anaiah is just 14 is one of those details that you often read in reviews and critiques, but it says nothing about the music. Much more important is that the Leis are already working on their fourth album. That THE BOTS have already been part of the Warped Tour twice. That Less Than Jake took them on tour. That Blur invited them to open for their UK tour in August. That they were awarded Best Punk Artist 2012 at the Artists In Music Awards in Hollywood. To receive such respect, you have to be more than just very young. You have to be very good. To have developed a unique style. In the case of THE BOTS, a very raw, fast, fresh rock with rolling drums, an extremely sharp guitar, and roughly polished melodies. It’s no coincidence that the brothers cite bands like The White Stripes, The Black Keys, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, or Arcade Fire as influences. Even if the aforementioned are more like brothers and sisters in spirit, because THE BOTS are different. In August, they are coming to Germany to present their sound live with us. In addition to the festivals Highfield and Area 4, they will play an exclusive club show at Stuttgart's Zwölfzehn on August 20th.
