SHIRLEY HOLMES' debut album HEAVY CHANSONS available since November 4, 2011, in stores and on tour

Here it is, SHIRLEY HOLMES present their debut HEAVY CHANSONS, a successful album somewhere between rock, punk, disco, and 90s alternative. No question, SHIRLEY HOLMES are under a lucky star! The two frontwomen and their drummer met with their instruments on the loft bed at a shared apartment party in Kreuzberg. Plenty of fuel and an audience made it clear right away – they would play together from now on. Once again, the cosmic magic of the number 3 unfolded in no time.

The trio goes all in on rock with HEAVY CHANSONS. The opener “Nadines Korsett” perfectly sets the direction that the Shirleys take on this album: biting, to the point for the dance floor. SHIRLEY HOLMES sing in German and English, with lyrics about a washed-up actress going on a rampage (“Homicidal Actress”), about rain in the artificial sugar world (“Alles löst sich auf”), about going full throttle and Dadaism (“Floor The Gas”), and about shaking your booty in the bonus track “Tanzen!”, enhanced by the super-synths from Berlin disco and fries artist Nachlader. You can see that their themes revolve around all sorts of things, leaving the boy-meets-girl thing to others. More importantly: you can’t stand still while listening. The fact is, SHIRLEY HOLMES always give their all. Live on stage, in the studio, while writing lyrics, composing, singing, drinking, cooking, and sleeping.
