MARTIN SCORSESE PAYS TRIBUTE TO EX-BEATLE GEORGE HARRISON WITH A FILM MONUMENT
GEORGE HARRISON: LIVING IN THE MATERIAL WORLD available from December 8 on DVD and Blu-ray
After his tribute to The Rolling Stones, “Shine a Light“, veteran director Martin Scorsese (“Taxi Driver“, “Departed – Undercover”) focuses on former The Beatles member George Harrison in his new documentary. Using previously unpublished photos and never-before-seen footage, the Oscar®-winning director chronicles the life of George Harrison in GEORGE HARRISON: LIVING IN THE MATERIAL WORLD, whose death anniversary falls on November 29 for the 10th time.
In his very personal film, he not only relies on rare archival material and interviews with Harrison's family. Numerous companions and friends of the ex-“Beatle” also share their thoughts, including Eric Clapton, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, George Martin, Paul McCartney, Yoko Ono, Tom Petty, Phil Spector, Ringo Starr, and Jackie Stewart. As exclusive bonus material, the music extras “Dispute and Violence” and “Here Comes The Sun” as well as interviews with Paul McCartney, Damon Hill, and Jeff Lynne are included.
More than 3 hours of music history with previously unpublished images and songs will not only make the hearts of The Beatles fans beat faster. Available from December 8, 2011 as a double DVD and Blu-ray in stores!
Starting November 24, the DELUXE EDITION is exclusively available at Amazon. The special edition includes a Blu-ray and two DVDs with the film as well as eleven extras, six of which are exclusive to this release. Additionally, special highlights include a CD with ten previously unreleased recordings, a 96-page booklet with excerpts from Olivia Harrison's book, and two exclusive portraits of George Harrison in a box with an integrated picture frame. A must-have for every The Beatles fan!
