There had been tension at Jingo De Lunch for a while. On Facebook, singer Yvonne Ducksworth publicly aired her differences with drummer Steve Hahn: "I'm so sick of this. Last year my drummer asked me to stop writing political lyrics. I'm not in that band anymore. Go Figure." Through the same medium, the announcement of the final split comes now.
To all friends of Jingo de Lunch:
I know this message is overdue. In short, and to minimize gossip: Jingo de Lunch members Steve and Henning have decided to break up the band. Unfortunately, members Gary and I have had no say in this decision and are both shocked that we were excluded from the final discussion.
Still, I feel honored to have been a small part of your musical landscape, and it has been a privilege to be part of a band that was able to exist for so many years.
Regardless, Gary and I will continue to play music, together or with other bands or projects, and will definitely keep you posted on what we are up to....
