At the beginning of the year, we reported on how members of the Russian female group "Pussy Riot" were taken into custody by state authorities after their protest action against the despot Vladimir Putin in the Christ the Savior Cathedral in Moscow. Three of them, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, Maria Alekhina, and Ekaterina Samutsevich, are still in prison, facing charges of hooliganism, for which they could expect up to seven years in prison. In this case, Amnesty International has now also intervened alongside other solidarity actions. To emphasize the matter, everyone is called upon to express their opinion to the Russian authorities regarding their treatment of opposition members.
