On February 21, 2024, Akne Kid Joe announced their new album titled "4 out of 5". The album will be released on June 7, 2024, via Kidnap Music / Cargo Records, and pre-sales for the record and the accompanying tour started on Friday, February 23, 2024.
About the album: »Who the hell is this again?« At some point, someone in some pub understood »Akne Kid Joe«, while the UKJ version of »Cats In The Cradle« was playing. They laughed briefly, »great band name!«, but now it’s only half as funny. Because AKJ have become serious, playing Sus- & 7-chords, isotonic wheat beer is on the hospitality rider, and that just doesn’t fit at all! Punk was just a phase, mom knew it.
Akne Kid Joe (the punk band with the great band name) sounds like the Pixies did way back when. At least that’s what the guy from Dog Eat Dog said, and everyone in the band thought »cool«, even though half of them only knew »Where Is My Mind?«, but »Fight Club« is a great movie! (And »Doolittle« is a huge album, note from the Pixies half).
In June, the fourth AKJ album titled »4 out of 5« will be released. Maybe the second to last?
