THE KINGS OF NUTHIN´ have a new album out.
The band from Boston, which has won many hearts in recent years with their crazy mix of swing, rock'n'roll, and a healthy dose of street punk, continues
with "Old Habits Die Hard" right where they left off. Namely, with captivating, swinging, and fast music that has so many styles per song that it's impossible to name them all. The band brings together all the good elements of the respective music styles. The swing band on speed, with punk rock in their blood, presents their new 18 songs, proving that they are still unique and fear nothing.
You can hear that right from the moment you insert the CD. Only with the fourth song "Old Habits" does the tempo slow down a bit. This allows the vocals to shine better and puts the melancholic, sad lyrics even more in the spotlight. This is particularly evident at the very end, where only the piano and the voice of Torr Skoog can be heard. A ballad that makes you pause. "Congratulations" is haunting and describes what it's like to be completely spent still hanging at the bar, even though the party has long been over. A feeling we have all surely experienced.
But the faster songs, of which there are plenty on the album, are by no means inferior to the calmer pieces.
THE KINGS OF NUTHIN´ have delivered a great album with "Old Habits Die Hard," which further cements their exceptional status.
