“ONE,” the latest work of the Reggae-Rock pioneers THE TiPS from Düsseldorf, is from the upcoming album “!EAT PLASTIC.”
A lot has happened since the band impressed the press with their previous album TWISTS'N'TURNS in 2016 and went on an extensive tour through Europe. Now, more than 8 years later, after a band breakup and a reunion, !EAT PLASTIC represents a continuation of the old virtues, which were ushered in by the new chapter of the band when they reformed with Ali on vocals and guitar.
Free from any arbitrariness, the characteristic TiPS mix, which moves between rock, reggae, and punk, once again seeks its equal in the German music landscape through soulful vocal phrases that pair with hard riff boards and chilled off-beats. Everything seems the same, one might think?
The opener “ONE,” and thus the first single from the upcoming album, directly sets the course, showing that the band is taking another step forward with newfound creativity. Progressive rock tones, Muse meets Reggae-Rock. Those who celebrated the song Birds in Trees with Benji Webbe in 2016 will experience their second spring here and be fully engaged.
