The title of the upcoming Black Magic Six album "Black Cloud Descending" (Svart Records) captures the mood and thoughts of its creators during the album's development process well. It tells stories of constant flight, of accepting defeat, of the fates of outcasts, failures, and drunks. Stories of the wiser, exaggerated lies, vague rumors, blurred states, and suspicious circumstances - even the thought in the back of the mind about the possibility of redemption while standing on the edge of the cliff just before falling in; it’s all there.
The first single from the album "Blood of Babylon" is a garage rock song about the relationship between Sam Berkowitz and Sam Carr's talking dog. The lyrical themes of the upcoming album oscillate between reality and the imaginary world; the memory of moments in Belo Horizonte, how to use the powder that protects you from the evil eye, what it feels like to wonder in the same alleys with the werewolf of Istanbul, or to find safety at the bottom of a pond in North Savo.
