Last year, the band had the opportunity to tour with Wolfmother, Black Label Society, and Kid Kapichi, and is considered one of the rising new rock bands from the UK.
Vocalist/Guitarist Lee Martin comments: "Every drinker worth their salt goes through a phase of madness where one, some, or all of the following things occur at various points during the exploration of the chosen substance:
"1: A glorious winning streak occurs, which one immediately associates with the high, and as a result, one does it more often.
"2: The company you keep becomes much stranger. Old friends look at you a little differently, but it’s THEY who are wrong, not YOU! An old friend briefly lived with a speed freak, whom she caught in the middle of the night re-cementing the floor of his warehouse in Finsbury - a good example of this phase.
"3. the inevitable crash, where phases 1 and 2 repeat until one finally admits that in some way, they have squandered the formative years of their life.
"This song is a diary entry from a time when I didn’t have such activities under control, a perfect storm of chaos."
"Running It Dry" comes from the band’s impressive debut album, "Cautionary Tales of Excess," which will be released later this year.
The Blue Stragglers, consisting of Lee Martin (vocals/guitar), Ali Waite (bass), and Andy Head (drums/backing vocals), have taken matters into their own hands since their inception. From the very beginning, the hardworking group was keen to find a headquarters.
When their local pub The Dunn Horse was closed, the band managed to clear out the venue before it was converted into apartments, and they brought all the pub's furnishings to Lee's house. In this eccentric setting, the band has regularly hosted gigs in the house, which they now call The Denne Horse.
Hailing from Horsham, England, the Blue Stragglers are here to turn your head and leave their mark. The trio seems to be driven by a mix of adrenaline and telepathy, combined with an unbridled gift for creating highly captivating fuzzed-up bangers.
The power trio not only possesses a wealth of talent but also an undeniably strong work ethic and has tirelessly performed gigs across the country, including prominent appearances with Wolfmother, Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society, Kid Kapichi, We Are The Ocean, and Phoxjaw, as well as a stunning performance at Download Festival 2022. Last year, the trio released their self-titled debut EP and received much acclaim from BBC Introducing, Kerrang! Radio, Planet Rock, and Gigslutz, to name a few.
Encouraged by the success of the release, Blue Stragglers are now entrusting themselves to the esteemed independent label Hassle Records (Brutus, Casey, Ithaca, Petrol Girls, Press Club, among others).
The foundation is laid, and Blue Stragglers continue their journey with "Running It Dry."
