Mindless Insta-story swiping is a bad habit that we all find hard to break – and even when we know (scientifically proven) that it’s bad for us, we still engage with it more than we’d like. Baits’ new uptempo hit “Stuck AF” is a reminder not to believe everything you see in Insta-stories. People construct their own realities and personalities through the use of filters and editing tools, which make you question the truthfulness of what is shown. Everyday events, like a bathroom break, become edited versions of reality. The lyrics reflect the insignificance of these false realities and echo the impact in the chorus: “I’m stuck as fuck, stuck fuck, right in the muck, stuck as fuck.” Watching other people live “their best life,” even when these stories are staged/created, leaves us feeling stuck in a 9-to-5 job or a boring relationship. Taste the sourness of failure. But before you give up, turn up the song and scream along.
