Turbostaat release their new single "Der weiche Kern" and are going back on tour after the pandemic and illness.

For Turbostaat, the pandemic and the resulting break lasted unusually long. Like many other bands, they spent their concert-free time waiting uncertainly. When things were finally supposed to get going again, health issues disrupted the plans, and the band had to call in sick right away.
Now everyone is healthy again, and they can continue. Turbostaat release "Der weiche Kern," a cover version of Gravenhurst with their own German lyrics. "We can't quite pinpoint why we covered it now. We've always been quite taken with Gravenhurst. The atmosphere and the harmonies, the sadness, this unpretentious yet determined quality. It felt very relatable to us," say Turbostaat.
"In the soft core of men, you can see rusty masks and gray death crocuses," it says in "Der weiche Kern." The crocuses (plural of Krokus) are a central motif and have always been an inside joke of the band. "Ultimately, it felt right immediately when we played the song together for the first time. Very natural."
"Der weiche Kern" is released as part of a whole Turbostaat "Der weiche Kern" tour. Tickets for the individual shows are offered as a package, including a button, a tote bag, and a vinyl single with "Der weiche Kern" and "Otto muss fallen," which Turbostaat only released digitally last year. A package for the soft core, indeed.
