The four-member band SLOW PULP from Chicago has signed with ANTI-Records and announces this with the release of the new song "Cramps."
The post-punk shoegaze song thrives on the distorted vocals of singer Emily Massey, she comments:
"The song came out of a jam during practice after I announced that my period cramps were particularly bad that day. It’s about searching for things you wish you had in other people and creating that character in your head who has all the physical and emotional traits you believe you lack."
Next week, Slow Pulp will embark on a month-long European tour with Death Cab for Cutie, with 2 exclusive shows in Germany also planned:

At the end of 2020, Slow Pulp released their debut album Moveys,” Massey moved to Wisconsin during the writing process of the album after a series of issues arose: the COVID pandemic, a Lyme disease diagnosis, and a car accident involving her parents, which she had to help them recover from. Slowly but surely, her health improved, and the band was able to collaborate and connect in a new way.
"Slow Pulp have turned their adversities into something productive," says The Line of Best Fit. "By tearing apart old ideas, processing their challenges, and starting anew, the band was able to evolve into a better band while even strengthening their lifelong friendship."
"The future of Slow Pulp is full of possibilities, and that future is now" - Paste
