"Resigned parents with a trauma from the reunification period explain to their children that the greatest enemy remains the West." In their new single "03. Oktober", the rap duo Hinterlandgang addresses the consequences of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Albert puts himself in the generation of his parents, for whom the reunification meant unemployment and fear for the future for many people. Pablo tells from the here and now, where state-owned enterprises have been replaced by pig farming facilities and other large corporations. In the end, this "brave new world" is in flames. Wage inequality and lack of prospects still shape parts of the East. But Hinterlandgang looks boldly towards the future, even if many problems will come to the people with it."
