The legendary Celtic punk band FLOGGING MOLLY returns with their first new album in five years, “Anthem” (release date 09.09. via Rise Records). For this album, the band from Los Angeles and Dublin has teamed up again with sound wizard Steve Albini, known for Swagger and Drunken Lullabies.
"With this record, we have returned to our roots in a way that we couldn’t have done if we hadn’t been playing together for over 20 years", says singer and guitarist Dave King.
"I think that returning to Chicago and recording with Steve was so much fun, and I believe you can hear that on the record. For Flogging Molly, it’s always the goal to come together and play new songs - and now we’re just looking forward to presenting these songs live and ushering in a new era with our fans."
A second taste of the 11-song collection is now available with "The Croppy Boy ’98“, a piece that King describes as "a stomping, exuberant ode to traditional Irish music".
FLOGGING MOLLY will soon be live in Europe and can be seen at numerous festivals (as well as on 06.08. with BROILERS in Berlin)!
A headline show is also scheduled for 27.07. in Munich (Tonhalle).
