PARKWAY DRIVE
ON ARENA TOUR STARTING IN SEPTEMBER!
The Australian powerhouses of PARKWAY DRIVE have evolved from metal underdogs to festival headliners over nearly 20 exhausting years and more than six critically and publicly acclaimed studio albums (all of which achieved gold status in their home country and spent months in the longplay charts in Germany), three documentaries, a celebrated live album, around a billion streams, and thousands of concerts.
On June 7, 2022, the band released their new single.
The song explores the things our mind experiences when we are not awake - but not yet asleep - the world of night terrors and sleep paralysis.
This is the first new song material from the band since their successful 2018 album "Reverence" (Epitaph), which reached the Top 3 of the local longplay charts and stayed there for over 11 weeks - and the wait has been more than worth it.
"Parkway Drive have always managed to balance light and darkness, and 'Glitch' is no exception,” the band shares. "Sonically, we wanted to create a dark, heavy, and nerve-wracking journey while simultaneously searching for a melody that burrows into your head. Lyrically, the song deals with the phenomenon of night terrors and sleep paralysis. We all know the power our mind possesses, but true terror manifests when the mind takes physical control of our body with all its fears. The 'malfunction' in your brain where nightmares and reality intersect.”
The band will return to Europe and the UK for an extensive headliner arena tour in September and October 2022, further cementing their status as one of the most intense live bands in modern metal.
The tour kicks off on September 9 in Leipzig and concludes a few weeks later in Cardiff. As support, PARKWAY DRIVE has another heavyweight on board with WHILE SHE SLEEPS from Sheffield.
