Now it’s all about the sausage! Ground through the meat grinder… comes now with “Produkt” on …. the new release from Jawa.
When bassist Kiki Kabel and drummer Skinny played together in “Die Skeptiker”, they began to develop a musical idea: to play rock music without a guitar. Why always serve everything in a repetitive punk guise? Why not Progressive Punk with many ideas? Just as Kiki left “Die Skeptiker” to join “The Adicts”, both wanted to remain musically connected. A new band was needed! Together with Phil from “Fightball”, they realized it, presenting German lyrics differently, sometimes on the verge of phonetic poetry. They want to follow their own path and implement ideas without compromise. In Manon, they found the ideal companion on keys, who also contributes to the graphic output.
The result can now be heard on the new EP “Produkt” (May 27). After “Der Revoluzzer” (Dec 2021) was released as a propaganda booklet in the style of the 20s, there is also no classic CD with “Produkt”, but a fabric sausage as a keychain along with a QR code containing the music. If that doesn’t scream creativity.
The title track of the EP “Produkt” deals with factory farming and excessive meat consumption. Less finger-pointing and more unvarnished reality. It’s about the grotesque treatment of animals and the ignoring of the consequences for all involved. And so the song ends with the words “Life remains a commodity if you have no value for it.”
And a new video was released on June 2, 2022, featuring many fabric sausages, rabbits, and even blood playing the main role!
