In the turbulent years during which Feine Sahne Fischfilet has reached the top of the German music scene, frontman Monchi has always gone full throttle. Until the band takes a break and he finally has the time to confront himself. The scale reveals to him that the time has come: He weighs 182 kilos. As long as he can remember, Monchi has always pushed the limits and beyond. As a showman and combative spokesperson for Feine Sahne Fischfilet, his motto is: "All or nothing!" This also applies to the countless crashes and drunken nights in pubs and on tour. But after jumping off the stage, the audience has always caught him, right? When it has long been normal for him to binge instead of eat, to drink excessively instead of just drink, he begins to question certainties and habits. Understanding follows failure. He learns a lot about his own contradictions and quirks, about identity and the influence that society can have on self-perception. Monchi describes with brutal honesty and self-criticism how he managed to lose over 65 kilos in just one year, and how the fight against excess occupies him daily; with many small successes, but just as many setbacks – because the challenge has only just begun. Monchi is the singer and lyricist of Feine Sahne Fischfilet, with whom he has made the journey from the youth center to the main stage of Rock am Ring since 2007. In 2016, he initiated the campaign "Not Completely Screwed. Stand Together Against the Right Turn" and organizes his own festival in Vorpommern called "Wasted in Jarmen". In 2017, the award-winning documentary film "Wildes Herz", directed by Charly Hübner, was released, which addresses the band's social and political engagement and Monchi's life story.
