The indie newcomers TRISTESSE are releasing their first musical sign of life with the song "Kreis". The sound of the Berlin band is characterized by droning soundscapes leading to playful riffs, catchy choruses, and complex harmonies, all supported by dreamy vocals and danceable beats. This ambivalent composition is also reflected in the accompanying music video, produced by Paul Tchurz.

"Where there is light, there is also shadow." This saying represents the quintet not only in instrumental terms but also in their lyrics. Singer Jannes-Maximilian Priebels comments on the lyrical background of the debut single as follows:
"In 'Kreis', I reflect on fears of the future, self-doubt, and worries as a young adult, resulting in a feeling of hopelessness. Despite all the melancholy, the lyrics should also encourage. Many of these uncertainties and problems are part of personal development, and no one is alone in this. Even from seemingly hopeless situations, something good can emerge.”
A typical categorization of the band is difficult. The musicians' influences draw from shoegaze, indie, alternative, dream-pop, and grunge, as indicated by the airy vocals, effect-laden guitars, and the bass driven by the chorus. From all these different sources of inspiration emerges a novel and innovative soundscape that is unparalleled.
