The Parcels recently released a new song called "Free".
On July 14, 2021, they followed up with a live version of the song. Filming took place in Wilyakali, Australia.
The Wilyakali or Wiljaali are Aborigines in Far West New South Wales, Australia. The live session at the Silverton Hotel in Silverton began with a phone call from drummer Anatole to a man named Peter Price. Keyboardist Louie Swain had previously created a list of places the band wanted to visit on an Outback trip for a documentary. The Parcels recount: “Silverton was on this list. 50 inhabitants, two dusty streets, a few donkeys, a pub, a bakery, and endless desert surrounding it. On the fifth attempt to call, Anatole reached Peter, the owner of the Silverton Hotel. Peter didn’t quite understand why we wanted to visit him and how we planned to get so far inland through the desert. But he said we were very welcome and that he would only believe it when we were actually there. What neither came across on the phone nor via Google was the tranquility and warmth of the small town. The inhabitants of Silverton are probably closer to ‘Free’ than anyone else.”
