With the release of the album "manifestation" in August 2017 on DESTINY RECS, the reborn MDK (Mekanik Destrüktiw Komandöh) is receiving excellent reviews. From being called the most important German-language album of the year (Ulf Kubanke on laut.de) to "sounds like Iggy Pop, only harder" (Mint-Magazin) and "It's good that this important band is back" (Jörg Hackelburger in KuK), the range of praise is wide. In the English magazine WIRE, the track "Worte werden zu Musik" reached number 4 in the editorial charts. LIVE, MDK last impressed in September at the sold-out "Rockmaschinen" in Copenhagen.
On 24.11.2017, they can finally be heard again in Berlin. And seen. The concert at Regenbogenfabrik is also the official RECORD RELEASE SHOW for the album.MDK - a punk band from the very beginning and probably the first West Berlin protagonists of the new music scene, who helped ignite the movement in its early days in the late 70s with their consistently original German-language songs - is releasing a new record after nearly 35 years – manifestation. Agit-Punk / Wave / Avantgarde-Rock - powerful, brutal, and whisperingly tender - punk meets improvisation, jazz, and theater, energetic, "existential" and asking the right questions. MEKANIK DESTRÜKTIW KOMANDÖH plays punk that is not punk, never was, and never will be – anarchistic – liberating the senses – fun and improvisation.
Friday 24.11.2017 Regenbogenfabrik, 8 PM. Support: Graf Tati
Lausitzer Straße 22, 10999 Berlin.
