punkfoto.de is (once again) facing closure

With punkfoto.de, Karl Nagel operates an extensive archive of old photos of punks. This now comes close to 30,000 photos, which means considerable effort in both management and financing. The latter is now in question for the first time, as Karl simply can no longer afford the necessary server.

In his statement, he explains the current situation and what solutions he can envision. Without the support of sponsors, the site will likely have to close its doors on October 1st. It is now crucial to find a long-term solution so that another call for help isn't necessary in six months.

In short: No money, no new jobs in sight, Hartz IV on the horizon, mental breakdown! I'm in deep trouble, and if I don't get concrete help, I will have to sink PUNKFOTO on October 1, 2017. And my entire life along with it. What is needed now is not pity, clever comments, and tips from everyone, but action, money, and offers!

Let's get to the facts one by one!

1. All attempts to finance PUNKFOTO in any form have failed! The project has now become too huge to be developed further through unpaid work. That's why nothing has happened for a long time.
2. I have been working as a web developer almost exclusively from home for 15 years. This has somehow taken a toll on me. Maybe it's a pretty depression, I don't know. I'm hanging by a thread, I'm missing the kicks. Music, writing, everything is suffering. I'm pretty worn out. That's none of your business, okay?
3. On top of that, I've been lacking jobs for some time now. My savings will soon be depleted, as I, being self-employed, obviously don't receive unemployment benefits. Soon it will be time for Hartz IV. No reason to complain, others are in the same boat.
4. Nevertheless, I now have to drastically cut my expenses. This also includes the server costs for PUNKFOTO.
