THE JOY FORMIDABLE release a new music video for their song "Liana" from their recently unannounced digital-only EP "Sleep Is Day". This song inspired a charity project that started on October 3rd. All proceeds from this song will be donated to the Sumatran Orangutan Society.
"We came across a tweet from naturalist and environmentalist Bill Oddie, in which he criticized the destruction of the lianas in the orangutans' habitat. One of the songs on our EP is called "Liana" - liana, and as we began to research the crisis that orangutans are facing, it became clear to us that we had to do something about it".
Various items are being sold by the band to benefit this project, including artwork, merchandise, and a Fender guitar from Ritzy. The upcoming video associated with the song takes viewers into tropical rainforests and showcases the animals living there. It reminds the viewer that we are all connected and that the "jungle is a reflection of what we do to ourselves and others".
