In his first photo book Yesterday's Kids, Tim Hackemack portrays punks over 40.
The photographer Tim Hackemack has portrayed 77 individuals. Punks who have all crossed the age of 40, who have children old enough to start the next little revolution.
Different people, some of whom have much in common or nothing at all, yet they tell a shared story...
Tim Hackemack worked on the project for four years, alongside his job, his family, and his own band, covering over 15,000 km and investing countless hours in research.
The images were created based on a punk principle: Don't talk – go! No masks, no hours of photo editing. The protagonists could choose the locations themselves and contribute their own ideas. They were also involved in the selection of the images.
The pictures show people with edges and corners. They both confirm and refute the myth of youth culture.
Starting in June, the traveling exhibition for the book will also begin.
The first dates are already set:
03.06. – 26.06. – Sold out Gallery, Bochum
01.07. – 09.07. – Rock & Wurst, Bremen
29.07. – 21.08. – Galerie Knoth & Kröger, Berlin
