Pre-release single "Real Real Gone" featuring Michael Bublé now available
Van Morrison is now with Sony Music: in just a few weeks, on March 20, 2015, the legendary singer and songwriter will release his debut with the traditional label RCA Records, titled "Duets: Re-Working The Catalogue". For the album, the Irishman re-recorded sixteen of his songs with a host of high-profile duet partners, including music legends like Steve Winwood ("Fire In The Belly"), Mavis Staples ("If I Ever Needed Someone"), and Mark Knopfler ("Irish Heartbeat").
Additionally, current superstars like Gregory Porter ("The Eternal Kansas City"), Joss Stone ("Wild Honey"), and Michael Bublé ("Real Real Gone") are featured in the tracklisting.
The duet "Some Peace of Mind" also includes one of the last recordings of Bobby Womack, who passed away in 2014. The studio sessions took place under the direction of Don Was and Bob Rock in Morrison's hometown of Belfast.
Van Morrison's career began in the mid-sixties as the lead singer of the band Them, with which he achieved numerous hits like "Gloria", "Here Comes the Night", and "It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue".
Later, he released numerous groundbreaking albums as a solo artist, from "Astral Weeks" (1968) to "Born To Sing: No Plan B" (2012).
With "Duets: Re-Working The Catalogue", the 69-year-old is ending a three-year release hiatus.
