Jonathan Jeremiah will release his second solo studio album "Oh Desire" on March 27, 2015. In May 2015, the accompanying European tour will follow, which will also bring him to Germany for 4 concerts.
On his new album, he takes the listener on a long journey full of soul, folk, and country. He tells stories of escape, escapism, love, loss, despair, and most of all, desire.
The 13 songs of "Oh Desire" were recorded in North London at Ray Davies' Konk Studio and showcase the development of Jonathan's extraordinary songwriting talent, which he already proved on his debut album "A Solitary Man".
During the recordings, Jonathan worked in the studio for the first time with a fixed group of musicians. He had never even dreamed of the possibilities that arose from this.
"I already had a very specific idea and wanted to make a soul album. However, with the band, it suddenly felt like being in another world. We toured together last year, so I wanted to involve them much more in the songwriting, and in the end, we spent much longer in the studio than planned. But we love it."
The result is a colorful mix of different, yet closely intertwined song ideas. Not only because of Jonathan Jeremiah's distinctive voice and his exquisite guitar playing, but also due to the new sense of togetherness that runs through the musical and lyrical themes, regardless of genre. On "Oh Desire," it becomes clear that Jonathan's belief in music as a central emotional force has persisted since he fell in love with classic soul as a boy.
