It’s The Girls! was created by BETTE MIDLER together with her longtime companion and award-winning composer Marc Shaiman, who produced the album. It’s The Girls! contains 15 songs spanning from Bei Mir Bist Du Schön, which the Andrew Sisters recorded in 1937, to Waterfalls, with which TLC scored a worldwide hit in 1994. The title track It’s The Girl! is, for example, a brilliant performance of a song by the Boswell Sisters, who are famous for their unpredictable harmonic changes and their sophisticated multi-part singing. The album showcases MIDLER's distinctive and versatile voice as she approaches the legendary melodies effortlessly yet with great respect.
As one of the most popular and versatile entertainers, who has made a name for herself in both music and film as well as comedy, BETTE MIDLER has received numerous awards in almost all areas of show business.
