LED ZEPPELIN: Great Pearls on the Net
With "Good Times Bad Times/Communication Breakdown" and "Whole Lotta Love", Led Zeppelin present the first songs and trailers from the re-issue series on their YouTube channel.
On May 30, LED ZEPPELIN fans have a sensation to celebrate: The first three albums, Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II, and Led Zeppelin III, are being released, personally remastered by Jimmy Page, with plenty of additional audio material recorded during the time the albums were made.
The first LED ZEPPELIN album, Led Zeppelin, will be released in this context with an additional CD (or LP/Download bundle), featuring a previously unreleased live performance from October 10, 1969, at the Olympia Theater in Paris, from which the recording of "Good Times Bad Times/Communication Breakdown" also originates. With this song, LED ZEPPELIN opened the show in the legendary Paris venue: After briefly playing the riff of "Good Times Bad Times" to start, they dive straight into an incredibly powerful live version of "Communication Breakdown". Rarely has one experienced LED ZEPPELIN so authentically as in this recording!
Furthermore, LED ZEPPELIN present a previously unreleased and rough version of their masterpiece "Whole Lotta Love”, the first and most successful single of the British rock legend. Released from the album Led Zeppelin II, the song, with Robert Plant's shout-like vocals and Jimmy Page's distinctive guitar riff, achieved million-seller status as early as 1970.
The first three albums open a whole series of elaborately packaged re-releases that will ultimately encompass the entire album repertoire of the band and will be equipped with plenty of additional material. Each of the albums will be available both as original single disc (CD or 180g vinyl) and as CD and vinyl with the additional "Companion Disc“. Of course, the various versions will also be available as digital downloads and as a Super Deluxe Box Set, which contains all formats and extensive non-audio additional material in one box.
The so-called audio companions consist of various previously unreleased rarities: live recordings (Led Zeppelin), demos, outtakes, and alternative versions (Led Zeppelin II and Led Zeppelin III). A MUST for every fan!
