White Lung is back with a bang, releasing ‘Snake Jaw’, which appears on the B-side of the Drown With The Monster 7” single. The 7“ has been available since April 25, 2014.
‘Snake Jaw’ is part of the new White Lung album “Deep Fantasy”, which will be released on June 13 via Domino.
After a year-long Sorry Tour, celebrated by Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, and Interview, White Lung continued as a trio in the studio: drummer Anne-Marie Vassiliou, guitarist Kenneth William, and frontwoman Mish Way. The album was recorded in two ten-day sessions with producer Jesse Gander at the end of '13/beginning of '14.
Mish Way is more provocative than ever on Deep Fantasy: she examines addiction (“Drown With The Monster”), muscle dysmorphia (“Snake Jaw”), and sexual dynamics (“Down It Goes”), along with other barroom topics. “I feel like the lyrics of most bands are just incredibly bland and that annoys me,” she says. “Sex is, for example, one of the most interesting topics I talk about. Culturally, it’s the thing we all do, yet there’s this weird fear about talking about it. I would love to normalize the conversation about sex, as it’s just interesting and we all think about it anyway!”

May 13, 2014 Hamburg, Molotow
May 14, 2014 Berlin, Magnet
