John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant came together in 1968 as LED ZEPPELIN. In the following decade, the band became one of the most influential, innovative, and with over 300 million albums sold worldwide, one of the most successful bands in modern music. Their songs remain some of the most celebrated pieces in the history of rock 'n' roll and continue to inspire young and old fans around the world. And yet – no matter how many times you have heard their music – you have never been able to hear LED ZEPPELIN like this before!
With the release of the Deluxe Editions of Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II, and Led Zeppelin III, the band begins an extensive program of re-releases of all nine studio albums in chronological order. All albums have been personally remastered by guitarist and producer Jimmy Page. More than that, LED ZEPPELIN is opening their treasure trove to share dozens of studio and live recordings with their fans. Each of the albums will come with a second CD that is fully equipped with unreleased recordings related to the respective album!
"The material on the companion discs opens a portal to the time when LED ZEPPELIN was making their recordings," says Page. "It is a selection from a work in progress, featuring rough mixes, backing tracks, alternative versions, and new material for the time."

The LED ZEPPELIN legend began in January 1969 with the self-titled debut. From the first salvo, "Good Times Bad Times," to "Babe I’m Gonna Leave You," "Communication Breakdown," and "Dazed And Confused," the album defined the band's unmistakable sound and set an indelible milestone in the musical landscape. Led Zeppelin was awarded Diamond status by the RIAA for sales of over 10 million copies and was inducted into the Grammy® Hall of Fame in 2004.
The companion album for Led Zeppelin features a previously unreleased performance from October 10, 1969, at the Olympia Theater in Paris. The nine-song set includes seven songs from the album and a 15-minute version of "Dazed And Confused," as well as "Heartbreaker" and "Moby Dick," which were released a bit later that same month on Led Zeppelin II.
Led Zeppelin II was almost entirely written and recorded during the tour for the debut. Incredible as it may seem, it was released just seven months after Led Zeppelin in October 1969. Led Zeppelin II features some of the band's most popular tracks, including "Ramble On" and "Heartbreaker" as well as "Whole Lotta Love," which many music fans consider one of the greatest rock 'n' roll songs of all time. The album was awarded Diamond status for over 12 million copies sold.
The additional Led Zeppelin II material gives fans a first glimpse into the band's recording sessions and includes alternative mixes of five album tracks, the backing tracks for "Thank You" and "Living Loving Maid (She’s Just A Woman)," as well as the previously unreleased track "La La."
Following the storming success of their first two albums and their constant touring, Page and Plant took over the now-cult-status country house Bron-Yr-Aur in Wales in 1970 to write the first songs for Led Zeppelin III. A bit later, they met for rehearsals with Bonham and Jones before starting recording at the London Olympic Studios in May 1970. Fueled by classic songs like "Immigrant Song" and "Since I’ve Been Loving You," the album reached the top positions in charts worldwide after its release in October 1970 and has since been certified six times Platinum in the US.
The nine songs on the companion album once again open the window to the studio recording process. Seven album songs are heard here as studio outtakes, along with three recordings that have not been heard until now: "Jennings Farm Blues" (an instrumental precursor to "Bron-Yr-Aur-Stomp"), "Bathroom Sound" (an instrumental version of "Out On The Tiles"), and their version of the blues classic "Keys To The Highway/Trouble In Mind."
LED ZEPPELIN are still honored for their key role in music history. In 1995, they were inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, in 2005 they received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award for their lifetime work, and the following year they were honored in Stockholm with the Polar Music Prize. In 2007, founding members Jones, Page, and Plant, along with Jason Bonham, the son of John Bonham, took the stage at the O2 Arena in London to headline a concert in honor of Ahmet Ertegun, a close friend of the band and founder of Atlantic Records. In 2012, the band was recognized at the Kennedy Center Honors for their contribution to American culture. After numerous gold and platinum awards, including in Germany, LED ZEPPELIN received the "Lifetime Achievement Award" at the ECHO 2013 for their lifetime work. In January 2014, they finally won their first Grammy in the Best Rock Album category for the album Celebration Day, which references their live performance at the Ertegun Tribute Concert.
