Here is the official statement from the organizer: Dear fans, dear friends,
we are extremely disappointed and can hardly believe it ourselves, but unfortunately we have to cancel the Potts Blitz Festival at Zeche Bochum on March 23. Due to the catastrophic advance sales of only about 30 tickets and after many discussions with scene experts and organizers as well as Zeche Bochum, we unfortunately had to make this decision.
Offering a day festival with so many strong bands, the veterans The Idiots, the trendy Kotzreiz, and numerous local heroes like Brigade S or 2nd District for €15 in advance was just difficult to manage, and we are all the more disappointed that almost no one is interested.
It's very bitter, as a lot of money has already been invested in advertising (website, posters, flyers, distribution, hard tickets, festival shirts).
We would not be doing the bands, the fans, or ourselves any favors if everyone ended up performing in front of 100 people in a hall that accommodates nearly 1000.
Therefore, we are infinitely grateful to Zeche Bochum and the representatives of the bands as well as the bands themselves for their understanding. Your support for this decision shows us once again that it is fun to listen to and live this music that gives us so much.
It is very bitter for us that the dream of our own festival has burst for now, but we will not give up on fulfilling it.
Thank you to EVERYONE for the support and your understanding, and especially a big thank you to Zeche Bochum, Plastic Bomb, Punkrock Magazine, Punk.de, Punkrockers Radio, and all the magazines and web portals that have truly given everything for us from the very first minute.
Tickets will of course be refunded immediately. Buyers please contact us via email through our website or at pottsblitz@gmx.de! We will see you at the Ruhrpott Rodeo!
Best regards
The Potts Blitz Team
