CONTENT
In "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug", title character Bilbo Baggins continues the adventure of his epic mission: Together with wizard Gandalf and 13 dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield, he attempts to reclaim the lost dwarven kingdom of Erebor.
The companions have survived the beginning of their unexpected journey – on their way east, they now encounter the skin-changer Beorn and a swarm of giant spiders in the treacherous Mirkwood. They are captured by the dangerous wood elves but manage to escape, reach Lake-town, and finally the Lonely Mountain itself, where they must face the greatest danger yet – a monster that surpasses all previous horrors: The dragon Smaug not only challenges the courage of the companions but also puts their friendship to a severe test – until they must ultimately question whether their journey still makes any sense.
