TINA TURNER - LOVE SONGS
With a collection of the most beautiful love songs by the Grammy® winner, Parlophone is preparing a gift just in time for Valentine's Day
Throughout the extraordinary career of Tina Turner, love has often been a theme in the songs of the multi-Grammy-winning artist. In unforgettable songs like the international hit "What’s Love Got To Do With It", she expressed all facets of love with her powerful voice. For the first time, Parlophone is now releasing a collection of the greatest love songs by the singer, who has already been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The album spans over three decades and includes 18 tracks, primarily drawn from the impressive collection of gold and platinum albums from Turner’s solo career.
Many tracks on LOVE SONGS trace the emotional comeback of Turner, which began in 1983 with Private Dancer, an album that sold over five million copies. This new collection includes three songs from that album: a cover of Al Green's "Let’s Stay Together", the Top 10 title track, and "What’s Love Got To Do With It", which topped the charts for three weeks and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2012. Some tracks from other albums released in the 80s are also featured on LOVE SONGS, including "Two People" from the album Break Every Rule (1986) and "The Best" from Foreign Affair (1989).
Turner continued to captivate her audience in the 90s, with songs like "Way Of The World", a new track found on her greatest hits collection Simply the Best (1991), or "I Don’t Wanna Fight“ from the soundtrack of her film What’s Love Got To Do With It from 1993. The decade ended with the release of two more solo albums: Wildest Dreams (1996) and Twenty Four Seven (1999). Both are also included in this collection with fantastic songs like "When The Heartache Is Over“ and her cover of John Waite's "Missing You“.
In addition to her solo works, LOVE SONGS also features a duet: "River Deep – Mountain High“, that wonderful track Turner recorded with Ike Turner in 1966, which was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999.
Available on CD and as a digital download starting February 14
