At the beginning of 2014, the Solingen music magazine Ox ("Punkrock Hardcore RocknRoll") celebrates its 25th anniversary, as the first issue was released in 1989. Since then, over 110 issues have been published, with a new one every two months, and the anniversary will be celebrated with a festival on Friday, February 7, 2014, at Getaway in Solingen-Ohligs.
Ox publisher Joachim Hiller has put together a lineup that is representative of the spectrum of his magazine: THE RUTS DC, contemporaries of THE CLASH from 1970s London, will play an exclusive concert and are performing live in NRW for the first time in decades. THE GENERATORS from Los Angeles have been favorites of the editorial team for years and will also perform exclusively in NRW. ASTA KASK from Sweden are one of the oldest and most well-known punk bands in the country and are performing exclusively in Germany for this show. LOVE A has developed into one of the most charming German-speaking indie rock bands over the past three years. VITAMIN X from Amsterdam have recorded their last albums with Steve Albini (including NIRVANA) in Chicago and play punchy hardcore. BLANK WHEN ZERO from Mainz are special friends of the editorial team, ÄRGER NOW! from Solingen is the new band of Jens Bumper (JET BUMPERS), and CHURCH OF CYCOLOGY from Wuppertal are masters of punchy hardcore miniatures.
After the concert, Ox columnist Tom van Laak will spin punk and hardcore records at the Getaway cocktail bar.

RUTS DC
Founded in London in 1977, disbanded in 1980. Active again since 2007, their new album "Rhythm Collision Vol. 2" was released in 2013. No one blends punk and dub better than the band featuring original members David Ruffy and John "Segs" Jennings. Songs like "Staring at the rude boys", "Babylon's burning" or "Jah war" are among the classics of British punk.

THE GENERATORS
For 16 years, the L.A. punk band led by Doug Dagger has been on the road, guaranteeing melodic street punk and top-notch West Coast punk rock. Their eighth album, "Last Of The Pariahs", was released in 2011, with a new album set for 2014.

ASTA KASK
ASTA KASK is considered by many to be THE Swedish punk band. Founded in 1978 in Töreboda, they recorded their first record in 1981 – and then disbanded. In 1982, they continued with "Med Is I Magen" and "Aldrig En LP", recording two absolute classics of Swedish punk – and disbanded again in 1986. 1989: Reunion, 1993: breakup. 2003: Reunion – and they have been active ever since.
