"RIOT 87 IN SO36"
First video clip from the album "Generation Nowhere" and pre-release single -
"Berlin Will Resist - Riot 87 in SO36" recalls May 1, 1987, in West Berlin, when a violent attack by units of the Berlin police on a street festival at Lausitzer Platz led to the largest riots Germany had seen since the 1950s, with the entire neighborhood becoming the scene of a major spontaneous uprising.
The following morning and throughout the entire week after the riots, the West Berlin police sought revenge and tried to imprison anyone they could catch on the streets of SO36 with fabricated charges. One of those individuals was Norbert Kubat, who committed suicide in prison three weeks after his arrest.
"Berlin will resist - Riot 87 in SO 36" is an offbeat punk anthem dedicated to Norbert Kubat - and to the spirit of resistance and rebellion in the streets of Berlin and around the world - a small taste of the 5th Offenders album "GENERATION NOWHERE" - better than ever, the band demonstrates how to mix ingredients from 2-Tone ska, punk rock, beat, soul, and power pop into a unique brew, full of hooks, messages, and melodies!
Music for rudeboys, ska people, traditional mods & skinheads, and all anti-racist football fans on the planet.
