ADOLESCENTS are one of the most well-known punk bands from the United States, founded in 1979 by original Agent Orange bassist Steve Soto and singer Tony Cadena (Reflex) in Fullerton, California. Over the years, they adopted the Agnew brothers from Social Distortion and released their self-titled debut album in 1981. "Adolescents" would go on to become one of the most influential Southern California punk rock albums of all time! Together with Bad Brains, Black Flag & Minor Threat, ADOLESCENTS remain one of the leading 80’s hardcore/skatepunk bands.
The original lineup disbanded by the end of 1981, but the band returned in 1986 with a new drummer and a new album, “Brats In Bataillons.” The band then released another record, “Balboa Funzone,” before disbanding again in 1989. For their 20th anniversary, there was another reunion in 2001; since then, the combo has been regularly performing on stage again. Soto and Reflex have taken the Adolescents through a few lineup changes across the USA, Europe, Japan, and South America, releasing “OC Confidential” as their first studio album after 17 years.
Over the years, the band has influenced many later punk bands, including Bad Religion, NOFX, Face To Face, Good Riddance, The Offspring, Pennywise, and Rise Against, as well as bands like Slayer and Fu Manchu. Following the acclaimed 2011 album “The Fastest Kid Alive,” their new studio album, "Presumed Insolent," is now released on Concrete Jungle Records. And the “Adolescents” prove once again with the new album that they have a distinctive knack for hits. 13 great punk rock songs that only a band like ADOLESCENTS can write, blending the old and the new! The album will be released as a CD, limited colored vinyl, and as a digital download. Blue vinyl including MP3 download card is limited to 1,000 copies. Currently, the band is on a European tour until August 17!
