BAD DRUGS is a new project by singer/songwriter Matze Rossi. The first single will be released on June 21 as a teaser for the album coming out in the fall.

Bad Drugs, the post-pop-punk trio, consists of three friends: Matze Rossi, Sven charming and uncompromising, enthusiastically exploring all facets of the mentioned subculture that still captivates and excites people of all ages around the globe:
Bad Drugs create simple, short punk rock songs with a lot of passion and even more melodies. Matze has a knack for this - just like Weezer or The Thermals. “This band combines for me exactly these three currents in punk rock that have influenced me the most,” Matze describes the sound. “On one hand, there’s English punk with bands like The Clash or Sex Pistols, then the American punk rock of the 1980s with Wipers, Scratch Acid, Descendents, and Hüsker Dü, and of course the California punk wave with NOFX, Jawbreaker, ALL, and Bad Religion. That might also explain my addiction to melody.” The first four songs on the “I Like” EP will be released on their own label, Dancing In The Dark Records. The full-length album is nearly finished and will be released in late summer. The working title “Old Men, Young Blood” promises even more energy!
For the first time ever, Matze is writing entirely in English. The songs shout, rumble, and love. Here, fists are raised in the air, stomped on the ground, and sung along. “As balanced as I am now and how well I’m doing in my life, I still have this anger inside me; there are so many things in the world that absolutely need to change,” says Matze. “BAD DRUGS are definitely not a ‘world-saving band’; it’s more about standing up for something and starting. That has always fascinated me about punk and rebellion: this unbridled and immediate energy to set something in motion out of dissatisfaction to create change.” So, with Bad Drugs, it’s not about desperately fighting against political circumstances or unjust police violence; we all know that already. It’s about inner attitudes, societal conventions, and entrenched ways of thinking. But it’s also about having a good time and living a good life.
