Just last October and November, DANKO JONES and his eponymous band graced us with a nearly sold-out tour. Now, DANKO JONES confirms additional dates for May. There are only a few who are as consistently on tour as they are. And when they’re not touring, DANKO JONES interviews other musicians and non-musicians for his fantastic podcast. Or he hosts – admittedly somewhat irregularly – radio shows. And if that’s not enough, he writes funny, ironic, pathetic, and thoughtful columns. Constantly on tour, constantly wired, constantly energized. Nevertheless, in September, DANKO JONES released his latest and sixth album. By the way, it’s worth purchasing the limited edition of "Rock And Roll Is Black And Blue". Because ten lucky buyers will find a golden pick inside, granting them lifetime access to all DANKO JONES concerts, wherever they may take place in the world. Those who have the time and love to travel just need to redeem this blank check and will be directly transported to the eternal and nightly rock’n’roll heaven. The lucky ones can start their travels this May when the first part of the extensive tour brings DANKO JONES back to Germany. And before you ask: No, unfortunately, the ticket does not apply to festivals like Hurricane or Southside, which DANKO JONES will grace in the summer with his sharp guitar riffs and his formidable and highly entertaining stage show. Even if it would be great.

MINUS THE BEAR are back, and they are louder than ever. Not metal-loud or punk-loud, of course, that wouldn’t suit the quintet from Seattle. But after synthesizer layers defined their loose sound last time, the guitars have taken center stage again on their latest album "Infinity Overhead". They can be incredibly fast or completely relaxed. The band never loses control over the sound they want to create. This goes beyond classifications and genres: If it’s supposed to be rock, rock is played; if it needs to sound more pop to create a certain impression, then the vocal lines become softer and the sounds more fluid. Overall, the immense talent for melodies and harmonies makes the album a well-rounded experience. But somehow, MINUS THE BEAR has also become more serious. As if they wanted to say: After twelve years and five albums, it’s time to grow up. We don’t need funny album and song titles to be noticed anymore. Our music is simply that cheerful. We want to take a new musical direction, evolve, and still remain true to ourselves. We want to make the music we like and that you like. Drummer Erin Tate describes it this way: "With the first three albums, we built our house; with the fourth, we built a beach hut. Now we’re back to working on our house." Even more beautifully put by bassist Cory Murchy: "We didn’t go anywhere, but we’re back." MINUS THE BEAR have never left the stage, as their songs come alive especially in concert. The guys’ shows are real surprise bags, full of surprises. So let’s look forward to the exclusive performance of the new and old MINUS THE BEAR on April 22 at Cologne’s Luxor.

Recently, TITLE FIGHT toured with their colleagues from La Dispute and Make Do And Mend and left a great impression. Shortly before, their second album "Floral Green" was released – just a year after their debut "Shed". What’s quite remarkable is that TITLE FIGHT took a full eight years to produce their first album. However, the albums reflect the long experience just as much as the concerts do. Live, TITLE FIGHT is an incredibly tight yet very independent band. They utilize their entire repertoire, even a bulky and quiet piece like "Head In The Ceiling Fan" develops an incredible pull on stage and practically explodes at the end in a cloud of sound. TITLE FIGHT repeatedly proves their versatility, sometimes representing the old hardcore school, only to create a sound that far exceeds the usual patterns of the genre. The songs are carefree and melancholic at the same time, every break and tempo change hits perfectly. The guys from TITLE FIGHT are incredibly good live, and you should definitely keep checking them out. TITLE FIGHT will be accompanied on this tour by two great bands: Dead End Path also hails from Pennsylvania, are old friends of TITLE FIGHT, and have already toured the USA with them. The hardcore of Uriah Thomas and his band not only complements the main act musically. The great, clever, and unusually scene-relevant lyrics about religion and death, which can be heard on their debut album "Blind Faith", fit well with this. Another accent is set by Whirr from Oakland – formerly known as Whirl. The sextet comes from the DIY scene, stands in the old shoegaze tradition, but loves to break out of these frameworks and reach entirely new sonic shores.
