TEAM GHOST will release their EP "Dead Film Star" on the new French label w-Sphere on December 3rd. Their debut album "Rituals" is set to be released on February 15, 2013.
TEAM GHOST is a five-member band from Paris, founded by former M83 member Nicholas Fromageau and Christophe Guerin. They started as a duo and expanded in 2012 with French composer Benoit de Villeneuve, supported by Pierre Blanc’s powerful bass and Felix Delacroix on drums.
Their critically acclaimed EP "You Did Anything Wrong To Me" was released in 2010 on Sonic Cathedral. NME described their sound as “Coldgaze,” a combination of shoegaze, post-punk, and electronica. Team Ghost has already toured with Crystal Castles and Liars. New tour dates will be announced soon.
The video for the first single "Dead Film Star" has already been released on VICE’s video channel NOISEY and has garnered over 130,000 views. Stereogum has already named "Dead Film Star" the video of the week. Simon Cahn, known for his work with Lady Gaga and Hanni El Khatib, produced the video.
Fellow Frenchmen TEPR and Para One & Tacteel were commissioned for the remixes of "Dead Film Star." TEPR (Abstract Keal Agram, Yelle) has remixed artists such as Santigold, Woodkid, and La Roux. Drawing inspiration from a mix of electronica and hip-hop sounds, TEPR gives "Dead Film Star" the touch of a Bhangra production, akin to Lil Wayne’s "A Milli" with a hint of trance.
Para One & Tacteel have already been responsible for remixes of Bloc Party, Justice, MSTRKRFT, Datarock, and Cut Copy. In their remix, they slow down the tempo into a wavering electronic trip with hip-hop beats and a touch of UK bass.
