"Who am I", asks Kid Kopphausen asynchronously from the darkness, and stepping forward with grins are Gisbert zu Knyphausen and Nils Koppruch. Excitedly trembling, loudly rocking, and wildly twitching, they join their quintet to perform the first single "Here I Am". The two singer-songwriters have formed a new, joint band, and now the first single is here. The debut album "I" (Trocadero/Indigo), produced by Swen Meyer (among others Tim Bendzko, Kettcar), has already been released and promptly landed at number 29 in the German Album Charts this week.
Something new has emerged from the roots of these two originals, and that is a stroke of luck. Stories and images from within and without, love songs, life songs, adventure songs. The two have intertwined, lifted each other up, and toasted; the fans of Gisbert zu Knyphausen will be just as thrilled as those of Nils Koppruch.
Koppruch, the seasoned one, who released six albums with his folk-country band Fink (Hamburg) and followed up with two solo albums (Grand Hotel van Cleef). And Gisbert zu Knyphausen, the younger and more successful newcomer, who with his last album "Hurra hurra so nicht" almost out of nowhere entered the album top 10.
