Culture Clash Festival – A clash that connects, rocks, and cultivates
The first indoor festival with a musical and cultural background is just around the corner: the Culture Clash Festival. On April 5th and 6th, 2012, the two stages of Uebel & Gefährlich in St. Pauli, Hamburg will be rocked. Musicians from more than ten countries come together to speak the language of music.
As headliner for Thursday, the organizers have secured Wirtz for the festival. Wirtz is currently on tour with his album Akustik Voodoo, released last year.
As part of the two-day festival, there will also be a release party on April 6th, 2012 for the first German single of singer Volkan Baydar titled "Raum schaffen." The German-Turkish artist, who has already celebrated numerous successes with the duo Orange Blue, is now releasing his first solo album featuring both German and English songs.
Music connects - even across borders. This characteristic is emphasized by the organizers of the Culture Clash Festival. “The name is our program: we present bands and artists on stage that also qualify for 'Culture Clash.' This will not be a festival where only purely German rock bands play. There are many cultures represented even within the bands. Ultimately, it’s about cool music. Through the respect among musicians, the idols, and also for the youth, a statement can be made,” says managing director Jens Rose.
The festival will be moderated by Lina van de Mars. As a drummer, she will not only moderate but also rock the stage with her band.
More than 25 artists from different nations will create a varied, rock-pop, and colorful program over both evenings, conveying the message of tolerance and openness to the world.
In addition to Wirtz and Volkan Baydar, there will be artists like Blackmail, The Intersphere, Shades & Peters (DK) and The Sonic Boom Foundation.
You can find the complete line-up, including audio samples and information about the participating bands at www.culture-clash.cc,
where you can also purchase tickets for both days.
