Olli Schulz about his new album: You stumble from one adventure to the next, trying to be a good person, showing your wounds, standing in solidarity with ignorance, barricading yourself against growing up, and eventually realizing with shock that in the dining hall of life, you only get an omelet. How should one understand that? I believe the best thing is to write or sing about it. That's what I do. So both.
The 42 minutes of my new record are a gift to humanity. A meeting with friends, enemies, and fleeting acquaintances on unfathomable ground. Songs about the eternal search for love ("Irgendwas fehlt", "Wenn es gut ist") greet the listener just as much as the realization of transience ("Old Dirty Man", "Ich dachte, Du bist es") or the motivation of the disoriented ("Ich kenn da Ein", "Spielerfrau") …
